&leave me on childhood's doorstep
This series reflects on memory as a shared space between siblinghood and time. Through the relationship between Abdullah AlAlwani and his younger sister, it becomes clear that the eldest sibling is also the youngest among them. In this realization, memories that seemed forgotten begin to resurface: she becomes his eyes, allowing him to see what has faded from his childhood, while he, in turn, guides her toward rediscovering another kind of childhood within adulthood.
Within this overlap between childhood and maturity, memory appears as a hidden spark, or as the poet Turki Hamdan Alenazi describes it:
“Flashes of bullets reveal that pain
is a fuse that ignites memory.”
