Who Safeguards the Street’s Memory?

Jenan Nimah wonders who preserves the memory of the street and answers,
“one of its guardians: a four-legged being, protecting it without ever writing it down.”

This series is part of an archival project titled Malouf (Familiar), a project that began from the belief that archiving is a responsibility that extends beyond the individual, yet begins with them. In this project, Jenan practices archiving through walking, writing, photography, and the everyday familiar.

Jenan Nimah is, first and foremost, a walker, then a photographer, writer, and contemplator from Jeddah. Follow her on Instagram.
